My Grateful Fo(u)r 2019
Way back in the day (before Instagram had algorithms), my college friend Brandy would post 4 things she was grateful for every week on social media. She called it her “Grateful Fo(u)r. In that same spirit of gratitude, here’s my Grateful Four for 2019:
My Circle
From life-long family, friends and lovers to colleagues and collaborators, I really have found (and in some cases reconnected with) my tribe this year. At the top of the year, I asked the Universe to send me my tribe— the people that would support me (and whom I could support) and THEY SHOWED UP and we showed out! The result? Some amazing collaborations through The Beautiful Life Collective, a self-care community for women. My Business
Being a full-time entrepreneur is both terrifying and wonderful at the same time. This year has been so fulfilling and way less terrifying thanks to loyal clients and customers that keep me booked and busy. I’m blessed to be able to support myself and my family doing what I love and I’m grateful that y’all keep coming back and spreading the word! #PleasurePositiveSexEdForALL
My Calling
I recognize there is a certain privilege in knowing in your heart exactly what you’ve been called to do. Each event I host, every private client session, I’m reminded of my calling to teach people about their bodies, their pleasure and empower them with the sex education they never formally received. But before I got into the sexuality space, I was writing grants for nonprofits (boring!) and working on passion projects (in theatre/film) on the side. There were little hints throughout my life whispering to me that I was called to be a Sexpert and now that I’m pursuing this path, I’ve found a passion that I had only ever felt before on the stage. I am immensely grateful to have found a career that consistently fills my cup and lets me pour into others. My Mistakes
Knowledge is power and there’s hella power in making mistakes. While social media tends to highlight all the ways in which we succeed, I’m grateful for my failures and the lessons I’ve learned through those experiences.
What are you grateful for this year?
